hanging on

There are times in life when all I can do is hang on to the promises of God. I have a strong belief that whatever comes my way, God will give me the grace to deal with it. That’s not saying that there won’t be tears and anguish at times but in the end I will have learned lessons and grown from the experience.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

The human brain is unique in that it is the only container of which it can be said, that the more you put into it the more it can hold. Glenn Doman

You hear a lot about “senior moments” when you get up in years. That could be because, as the old adage goes, you “use it or loose it”. For the mind needs to stay active just like the body does. Yet, I wonder sometimes, if it isn’t just that we notice more that we’re not remembering. When you’re a ten year old kid and you forget you just don’t think about it that much. I recall, “I forgot”, being one of the oft repeated excuses of all 5 of our children but it never seemed to bother them at all.

At times in life it is important to stop and realize that someone mightier than we are is still in charge.
In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and always be prayerful.

Romans 12:12 LB

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NI

These past two weeks have extra busy and this little quote made me stop and consider..

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin — real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. Fr.
