Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think your are. John Wooden

Endurance

Endurance: It is the spirit which can bear things, not simply with resignation, but with blazing hope. It is the quality which keeps a man on his feet with his face to the wind. Character

God’s ultimate goal for your life on earth is not comfort, but character development. He wants you to grow up spiritually and become like Christ. Becoming like Christ does not mean losing your personality or becoming a mindless clone. God created your uniqueness, so he certainly doesn’t want to destroy it. Christlikeness is all about transforming your character, not your personality.   The Purpose Driven Life

Take on an entirely new life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself out in your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.     Eph. 4:22

Reputation & Character

REPUTATION AND CHARACTER
The circumstances amid which you live determine your reputation; the truth you believe determines your    character.
Reputation is what you are supposed to be; character is what you are.
Reputation is the photograph; character is the face.
Reputation comes over one from without; character grows up from within.
Reputation is what you have when you come to a new community; character is what you have when you go away.
Your reputation is learned in an hour; your character is built in a lifetime.
Reputation grows like a mushroom; character grows like the oak.
A single newspaper report gives you your reputation, a life of toil gives you your character.
Reputation makes you rich or makes you poor; character makes you happy or makes you miserable.
Reputation is what men say about you on your tombstone; character is what the angels say about you before the throne of God. –
William Hersey Davis
